Focus on your Rehabilitation

Sports injuries don't just occur while playing sport! A sports focused massage for the most part will be similar to a deep tissue massage with a specific focus on the muscles / ligaments / tendons that have been injured.

Prior to commencing the treatment, your therapist will ask whether there has already been a diagnosis by another health professional. If there hasn't yet been a formal diagnosis your therapist will ask a series of questions on current and previous pain, mobility and how the injury occurred. The injured site will also be tested for swelling, flexibility, tenderness or any contraindicators that would prevent massage treatments from being used.

Massage therapy is an effective tool in achieving optimal health and fitness after an injury. Depending on the injury, your qualified therapist may also apply heat or ice to the affected muscles and tendons to increase the efficacy of the massage. If you have recently had surgery or suffered a fracture please consult with your medical practitioner prior to booking a massage appointment.
